Mango Village, Lamai Beach We stayed at Mango Village for 12 days with our 3 children. We occupied 2 beachfront rooms, which were next to each other but not interconnecting. We had to climb on the balcony or to go downstairs in order to get to the other room. We cannot recommend this hotel for a family with children, because there are lots of steps to climb from the beach to the pool and, due to the tides, the water in the sea can be very low with lots of rocks, so that swimming is impossible. If you are looking for privacy and a magnificent garden, it´s the right choice. The food there was o.k. (Italian and Thai food), but we missed a breakfast buffet. Staff was friendly in the restaurant, but the receptionist was not so good. We checked out earlier due to a construction going on(they knocked down a building right next door) and we asked for compensation, but the manager and the receptionist ignored us. So in the end we contacted Sawadee and they helped us to move to Grand Thai House, a really good hotel. |
Great help when we moved hotels. |

Mango Village, Lamai Beach We stay only for 4 days in this hotel, the staff is great, food excellent unfortunately even we have a room in front of the sea it was impossible to swim. Bigs and rocks on the sea and the water was not clean. Our room was clean just we didn t have hot shower and we didn t receive any instruction about the boiler (hot water). No telephon in the room...and nobody in the hotel when we come back after 11 PM. The water of the swimming pool was very too hot !! The hotel is located AFTER LAMAI beach so too far from Chaweng and LAMAI beach in low season the taxis are very expensive... |

Herzlichen Dank. |

Mango Village, Lamai Beach The hotel has a beautiful set up with a wonderful tropical garden and great pool area. The bungalows are newly built and cleaned every day. New towels were provided daily. The staff is generally very friendly and helpful, although in the restaurant the waiting staff could improve their attitude. Waiting times could be as long as 45 minutes (even for mirelite pizza which we weren t expecting from an italian restaurant). The pool area has a bar that plays music that can be annoying especially in the mornings. The music can be heard inside the bungalows and the music is on from 9-10 am which is about 3 am Europe time if you are jetlagged...Once the night security guard put on the music to ease his shift at 2 am... The beach is sandy, surrounded by large rocks which naturally divide it from the neighboring resort, so you feel you have your own private beach. The sea is unsuitable for swimmimg and has a rocky seafloor. For swimming the pool is great or Lamai beach is a 10 min motorbike ride away. All in all we had a good time and the place is good value for the money. |
No problems. |

Mango Village, Lamai Beach An excellent new hotel. the poolside bungalows are spacious, modern and very clean. The rooms were cleaned daily and new towels were also provided. The staff were very helpful and friendly. The food in the restaraunt is excellent and reasonably priced. the swimming pool and surrounding garden area was picturesque, well maintained and clean. Overall an terrific resort and we wouldn t hesitate to return. |
Excellent - no problems at all |

Mango Village, Lamai Beach Very nice NEW little hotel (about 15 rooms only) owned and managed by an Italian family (father with his two sons). The best rooms are at the beach front (complete privacy and quietude). Others are a bit noisy because situated not far of the pool. The place itself is lonely and the beach is not appropriate for bathing. A good many rocks, shells and, unfortunalely, broken glass don t allow to bathe even at the high tide (in July). The service is good enough but the breakfast is poor. So, if you are seeking privacy and are contented with bathing in the pool then this hotel is for you. Bear in mind also that you will not be able to buy any food in the surroundins. You will have to go either to Lamai (town, about 4-5 km from the hotel) or to Chaweng. And be ready to have dinner at the hotel too, which is good to be honest. Of course it is easy to rent a car or a bike and go anywhere. |
Excellent service. Quick and efficient. |

Mango Village, Lamai Beach This new resort is excellent with good value for money..the italian management and their staff are very helpful and friendly. The resort is very relaxed and the bungalows/pool-area &garden are just beautiful..The tranquil, secluded beach- area is kept clean everyday and induce a feeling of a tropical paradise..The food was excellent as well... the place is very suitable for families with children..We stayed several other places on Samui before, i.e. Sandsee, Lamai & Zazen, Bophut..but this is without doubt the place we will return to.. Just one warning:we rented a car at James Travel that was reccomended by the management..Upon returnal of the brand new Toyota the owner of James Travel claimed that the the brakes of the car was damaged..this was just nonsense and he did nt even try the car to make sure this was the case..he said that we had to pay 4000 B. or he would make sure the police would take me to Na thon and give me a fine of at least 20000 B. This was just 2 hours before departure of our flight from Samui...however I refused to pay and he called the police..at this time the manager of Mango Village showed up and negotiated with the car owner and the police..the result was that wehad to pay 1300 b.and was let of the hook... I hope for the safety of their guest that the resort will avoid James Travel for the future... |
